Trace Neuroscience

Trace Neuroscience is a biopharmaceutical company developing genomic medicines that restore UNC13A function for people living with ALS. Founder research showed that people with ALS have insufficient UNC13A protein, disrupting communication between nerves and muscles. The company lead program is an antisense oligonucleotide designed to correct UNC13A splicing and expand genomic medicine from a small genetically defined subset to the large majority of ALS cases involving TDP-43 mislocalization. Trace also sees potential for UNC13A restoration in other neurodegenerative diseases, including frontotemporal dementia and Alzheimer disease.
