Spiketrap was an AI-powered audience contextualization and conversation intelligence company founded in 2016 by Kieran Sean Fitzpatrick, Virgilio Pigliucci, and Andrea Vattani in San Francisco, California. The company developed proprietary Clair AI technology capable of extracting meaningful signal from unstructured language at scale, combined with a knowledge graph to power contextual ad targeting, impact measurement, brand safety monitoring, and data-as-a-service solutions primarily for the gaming and entertainment industries. Spiketrap was acquired by Reddit in September 2022 to enhance Reddit's advertising capabilities, with the team joining Reddit's Product and Engineering organization. Prior to acquisition, the company raised $3.5 million in a seed round led by Susa Ventures, 645 Ventures, Pathbreaker Ventures, and Anorak Ventures.
