Sesame Sustainability

Sesame Sustainability builds SESAME (Sustainable Energy Systems Analysis and Modeling Environment), a platform combining emissions modeling, techno-economic analysis, and system optimization for clean energy and decarbonization projects. The platform began as a sponsored research project at the MIT Energy Initiative, developed over six years by more than thirty researchers with over $7 million in research funding, and has informed studies including the National Petroleum Council's Harnessing Hydrogen report. Sesame Sustainability was founded in 2023 to commercialize the licensed IP, serving clients such as JERA and Chevron.
