Oratomic

Oratomic is a Pasadena-based quantum computing startup building fault-tolerant quantum computers using neutral atoms, founded in 2026 by pioneers of the field including researchers from Caltech, Harvard, and Berkeley. Its breakthrough research, conducted with Caltech, shows that cryptographically-relevant quantum computers may require as few as 10,000 atomic qubits — far fewer than the roughly 1 million previously estimated — via a new regime of ultra-efficient error correction using only light and atoms. The company raised a $300 million Series A co-led by ARCH Venture Partners, Spark Capital, and Khosla Ventures to pursue utility-scale quantum computing by the end of the decade.
