Hangzhou Just Biotherapeutics (HJB) was founded in August 2016 by Dr. Jonathan Y. Zhao, a former Amgen executive, as the CDMO arm of what would become Transcenta Holding Limited. The company provided end-to-end contract development and manufacturing services for large-molecule biotherapeutics, offering cell line development, process development, analytical services, formulation, and cGMP drug substance and drug product manufacturing from a facility in Hangzhou, China. In January 2019, HJB merged with MabSpace Biosciences to form Transcenta Holding Ltd., which completed an IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in September 2021; the combined entity was later acquired by Evotec AG and rebranded as Just-Evotec Biologics.
