Augur is a decentralized, open-source prediction market protocol built on Ethereum, allowing anyone to create and trade on the outcome of real-world events without a central authority. Originally launched in 2018 as the first major dApp on Ethereum, Augur uses its REP token for decentralized dispute resolution and oracle security. The protocol is currently rebooting with next-generation oracle infrastructure called Lituus.
