Zonova

Zonova is a London-based MedTech company dedicated to eliminating healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) at the source. Founded in 2023 by Dr Georgia Fleet and Carla Southworth, Zonova has developed a proprietary antimicrobial material platform called Z-ROS® that integrates directly into the polymers used in medical device manufacturing — including catheters, IV lines, and breathing tubes. These plastic surfaces are responsible for an estimated 70% of all hospital-acquired infections. By embedding antimicrobial protection at the point of manufacture rather than applying surface coatings, Zonova prevents bacterial growth without relying on antibiotics, offering a front-line defense against antimicrobial resistance. The company raised a £2.1 million seed round in 2026 led by THENA Capital and was awarded the 2026 MedTech Innovator Vision Award. Zonova's technology is applicable across both human health and animal health markets.
