TweetDeck Ltd. raised seed and Series A funding before being acquired by Twitter, Inc. in May 2011 for approximately $40 million. After the acquisition, Twitter integrated TweetDeck into its platform as a free professional tool. In 2023, following Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter (rebranded as X), TweetDeck was paywalled behind an X Premium subscription and renamed X Pro, with its URL migrating from tweetdeck.twitter.com to pro.x.com.
