Telegram is a cloud-based mobile and desktop messaging application with a focus on security and speed. Founded in 2013 by Pavel Durov and Nikolai Durov, Telegram supports end-to-end encrypted secret chats, large group conversations of up to 200,000 members, channels for broadcasting to unlimited audiences, and a powerful bot API platform. The app is available on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, and web browsers. Telegram uses its proprietary MTProto encryption protocol and stores messages in distributed data centers worldwide. It is free to use and supported by Telegram Premium subscriptions and advertising in public channels.
