TurtleTree is a Singapore-based food technology and biotech company using precision fermentation to produce animal-free dairy proteins, most notably lactoferrin, without relying on cows or conventional dairy production. Founded in 2019 by Fengru Lin and Max Rye, the company originally pioneered cell-based milk technology before pivoting to precision fermentation as its primary platform, addressing the dairy industry's substantial climate footprint in terms of emissions, water use, and waste. TurtleTree has raised over $57 million to date and received FDA regulatory clearance for its lactoferrin product, with research operations in Woodland, California.
