Third Space Learning launched in 2013 to help schools close the maths attainment gap through affordable, easy-to-implement online one-to-one tutoring. Since then it has delivered 170,000 online tutoring sessions to 170,000 pupils across 4,000 schools in the UK and US. The company built Skye, a teacher-designed AI maths tutor grounded in insights from 2 million traditional tutoring sessions, that gives every pupil unlimited one-to-one support for one fixed, low whole-school licence cost. Skye follows an 'I do, we do, you do' teaching structure with proven tutor moves such as modelling, questioning, and verbal reasoning baked into its system prompt, letting pupils talk through problems out loud rather than working with a generic chatbot.
