THEVA Dünnschichttechnik GmbH is a German manufacturer of second-generation high-temperature superconductor (HTS) wire, marketed under the brand THEVA Pro-Line. Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Ismaning near Munich, the company has built on over 20 years of expertise in coating technology and equipment engineering to establish the first industrial-scale production line for 2G superconductors in Germany, launched in 2012. THEVA's superconductor wire enables the transport of extremely high electrical currents with near-zero losses, allowing it to replace copper conductors in high-performance applications such as wind power generators, industrial drives, power cables, and power rails. The company serves manufacturers of cables, power electronics, and industrial systems globally, with sales partners in Asia, the USA, and Europe. With around 60 employees, THEVA has attracted five investors across multiple financing rounds — Target Partners, BayBG, eCAPITAL, Bayern Kapital, and EnBW New Ventures.
