Terraform Industries

Terraform Industries is a climate technology company founded in 2021 by Dr. Casey Handmer and headquartered in Burbank, California. The company is developing and scaling the Terraformer — a modular machine that produces synthetic natural gas (methane) by combining solar electricity with direct air capture of CO2 and hydrogen produced through water electrolysis. In March 2024, Terraform completed an end-to-end demonstration, delivering pipeline-grade carbon-neutral synthetic natural gas to two utility partners at 99.4% methane purity. The company has produced and sold thousands of cubic feet of natural gas at pipeline grade, achieved green hydrogen at under $2.50/kg, and deployed 1.8 MW of solar at its Muroc desert test site. Terraform closed seed investments of $38 million at a $150 million valuation.
