SquiggleDAO

SquiggleDAO is a decentralized autonomous organization founded in March 2021 by a group of five Chromie Squiggle collectors who pooled their NFTs into a multi-signature wallet. It is the largest community holder of Chromie Squiggles — the genesis project of the Art Blocks platform and one of the most historically significant generative art collections on the blockchain. The DAO's dual mission is to promote the Chromie Squiggle and its cultural relevance, and to acquire as many Squiggles as possible for a publicly viewable treasury. Membership is governed by the SquiggleDAO NFT (ERC-721), replacing an earlier ERC-20 governance token ($SQUIG). The DAO treasury currently holds over 300 Squiggles including rare specimens, alongside ETH, USDC, and other assets. SquiggleDAO operates independently of Art Blocks and its creator Erick Calderon (Snowfro), though it maintains an ongoing collaborative relationship with him. The organization has partnered with cultural institutions and artists to exhibit Squiggles in public venues, advancing generative art's place in mainstream culture.
