Rive Technology

Rive Technology, Inc. was a VC-funded MIT spin-off company based in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, that developed and commercialized mesoporous zeolite catalysts for energy applications, particularly fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) in petroleum refining. Co-founded by Javier Garcia Martinez, the company's proprietary nanotechnology created zeolites with a hierarchical pore structure that significantly improved catalyst performance — increasing gasoline and other valuable product yields while reducing coke and gas formation. Rive Technology's mesoporization process was designed to be retrofittable into existing refinery catalyst manufacturing, allowing refiners to upgrade performance without major capital investment. The company secured partnerships with major catalyst manufacturers and oil refiners before being acquired.
