Reborna Biosciences, Inc. is a Japanese biotech startup founded in 2018 as a carve-out from Takeda Pharmaceutical Company. The company is focused on developing oral small molecule drugs that target RNA — a drug class conventionally addressed only by nucleic acid therapeutics. Reborna's proprietary drug discovery platform enables high-affinity binding of small molecules to RNA, enabling the development of disease-modifying treatments for rare genetic diseases with high unmet medical need. The pipeline includes drugs for oral administration designed to normalize RNA function, reducing patient burden over long treatment durations. Reborna raised a total of 770 million yen as of June 2025 and has presented at the BIO International Convention.
