Rebellions is a South Korean AI chipmaker founded in September 2020, headquartered in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. The company designs neural processing units (NPUs) optimized for AI inference workloads including large language models and multimodal AI. Its chip lineup includes ION (2021, finance-focused), ATOM (2023, datacenter inference), and REBEL (2024, UCIe-Advanced chiplet with 144GB HBM3E). In December 2024, Rebellions merged with SK Sapeon, consolidating South Korea's AI semiconductor capabilities. The company has raised over $400 million including a $250 million Series C backed by Arm and Samsung. Rebellions has offices in Korea, the United States (Santa Clara), Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
