Radical Dot is a Munich-based climate deep tech startup founded in 2024 by Dr. Andreas Wagner and Alexandre Kremer, emerging from TUM Venture Labs ChemSPACE and the XPRENEURS accelerator at the Technical University of Munich. The company has developed a novel low-temperature catalytic chemical recycling process that converts mixed, non-recyclable plastic waste into valuable chemical building blocks — including carboxylic acids such as acetic acid — for use in the chemical industry. Unlike energy-intensive pyrolysis and conventional recycling approaches, Radical Dot's process handles mixed plastic inputs with significantly lower energy consumption, producing cost-competitive outputs that can substitute for fossil-derived chemicals. The founders previously led the Planet Positive Chemicals initiative at Systemiq, where they developed the first global roadmap for the chemical industry's net-zero transition. Radical Dot's technology targets the approximately 300 million tons of plastic waste incinerated or landfilled annually, aiming to process up to 20% of global plastic waste and abate over 500 million tons of CO2e annually. The company raised a €2.7 million oversubscribed pre-seed round in April 2025, led by UVC Partners and Visionaries Tomorrow, and is building a continuously operated prototype at TUM.
