Bringing fault-tolerant quantum computing to light
Quantum Source is an Israeli quantum computing company building large-scale, fault-tolerant photonic quantum computers. Their novel architecture harnesses single atoms trapped on a photonic chip to both generate single photons and implement atom-photon entangling quantum gates, facilitating the construction of complex 3D cluster states that serve as the backbone of error-correction codes. The deterministic nature of the gates minimizes the need for costly and complex feed-forward and switching operations required by other quantum computing approaches, enabling a more cost-effective path to commercially useful quantum computers. The company emerged from stealth in 2022 with a $15M seed round and subsequently raised a $50M Series A.
