Progentos Therapeutics is a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company developing first-in-class small molecule therapeutics to induce remyelination in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and other demyelinating diseases. The company's approach targets oligodendrocyte progenitor cells to activate the brain's natural repair mechanisms, regenerating the myelin sheath lost to MS — a mechanism distinct from existing immunomodulatory therapies that only slow disease progression without repairing existing damage. Founded in 2024 by co-founders Chris Loose and Sanjay Magavi and backed by a $65M Series A led by Forbion, Progentos aims to develop the first potentially restorative therapy for MS patients. The company has operations in both Watertown, Massachusetts and Naarden, The Netherlands.
