PowerX, Inc. is a Japanese energy technology company founded in March 2021 by Masahiro Ito, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo. The company pioneers renewable energy infrastructure through three core product lines: large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) for grid-scale and industrial use, ultrafast EV charging stations, and the world's first Battery Tankers — maritime vessels designed to transport electricity stored in batteries between offshore renewable energy sources and coastal consumers. PowerX's BESS products are used for grid stabilization and arbitrage (buying power cheaply when prices are low and selling when prices are high), and the company received its first overseas order in 2026 for a system bound for Vietnam. PowerX has formed partnerships with major automotive brands including Porsche, Audi, and Volkswagen Japan for EV charging network roaming. The company has 51–200 employees and is publicly traded.
