Ocean Renewable Power Company (ORPC) is an American marine renewable energy company based in Portland, Maine, and a global leader in delivering clean, predictable power from free-flowing tidal and river currents. ORPC develops and deploys its proprietary TidGen and RivGen underwater turbine power systems, which use a cross-flow helix-shaped turbine design to generate grid-compatible electricity with zero carbon emissions. ORPC achieved a historic milestone in 2012 by delivering the first tidal energy ever transmitted to a utility-scale grid in the western hemisphere, at Cobscook Bay, Maine.
