Nomadic (NomadicML) is a San Francisco-based AI data platform founded in 2024 by CEO Mustafa Bal and CTO Varun Krishnan, Harvard computer science graduates who previously worked at Lyft and Snowflake. The company converts large-scale sensor and video data from autonomous vehicles and robots into structured, searchable datasets using vision language models, enabling faster model training, fleet monitoring, and edge-case dataset creation for physical AI development. Customers including Zoox, Mitsubishi Electric, Natix Network, and Zendar use the platform to turn archived camera and sensor footage into training-ready intelligence. Nomadic raised an $8.4 million seed round led by TQ Ventures, with participation from Pear VC and Jeff Dean, in March 2026.
