NFTCo/Unblocked

Unblocked (also known as NFTCo, The Non-Fungible Token Company) is a Los Angeles-based NFT platform for brands, founded in 2021. Rather than running one open marketplace, it operates as a build-and-run provider: it designs bespoke, simple, visually polished NFT platforms for music and entertainment brands, letting them create and distribute NFTs and run their own secondary marketplaces for collectors. Per its own careers page, its mission is to empower music artists and fans by reimagining how they connect, and its team draws on prior experience at TikTok, Spotify, and Blockfolio. Unblocked has built platforms for artists and brands including hip-hop group Cypress Hill and Billboard. In January 2022 the company raised a seed round at a $90 million valuation led by Tiger Global, with participation from Dapper Labs, singer Shawn Mendes, Jay-Z's Marcy Ventures Partners, Oaktree Capital Management, and Penske Media (Billboard's parent company, which also contributed to the round).
