NextStep is a mobile-based training and job placement company focused on radically expanding the supply of qualified Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to address the United States caregiver shortage crisis. The platform delivers state-approved CNA coursework through mobile-first modules of 10-15 minutes, accessible during commutes or after hours, at no cost to students. Employer partners fund the program model, and graduates are algorithmically matched and placed in healthcare jobs through NextStep network. The company received state approval for its blended-learning CNA program in Colorado and later in Washington State, and enrolled more than 2,000 learners through early pilots. The company raised a $3.6 million seed round in April 2020 from Springrock Ventures, JAZZ Venture Partners, Learn Capital, and Pioneer Square Labs managing directors.
