Morus Inc. is a Tokyo-based biotech startup spun out of Shinshu University that revives Japan's 5,000-year silkworm heritage to produce next-generation functional ingredients for food, cosmetics, feed, and pharmaceutical applications. Through joint research with one of the world's leading silkworm scientists, Morus has developed MorSilk® Powder—a 100% silkworm-derived ingredient rich in essential amino acids, 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ), and silk proteins with a natural matcha-like flavor. The company also markets its own functional food brand KAIKO®, offers OEM manufacturing, and conducts joint research with global partners to scale mass production of silkworm biomaterials.
