JetZero

JetZero is a Long Beach, California-based aerospace engineering company founded in 2021 with the sole focus of developing the next generation of sustainable commercial and military aircraft using the blended wing body (BWB) configuration. The company's flagship aircraft, the Z4, seats 250 passengers and is designed to consume up to 50% less fuel than today's conventional tube-and-wing jets — roughly equivalent to replacing a Boeing 767 — through a lightweight all-composite airframe that eliminates the tail section, reduces drag, and generates lift across its entire wingspan. The Z4 runs on conventional jet fuel and is engineered to accommodate 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and future zero-emission fuels such as liquid hydrogen, targeting entry into service in the 2030s. JetZero's core team includes the engineers who pioneered the BWB concept, led by founder and CTO Mark Page, who led a three-year NASA BWB research initiative at McDonnell Douglas in the 1990s. The company is partnered with Northrop Grumman to develop a full-scale demonstrator aircraft for the U.S. Air Force's BWB demonstration program, and has received investment commitments from United Airlines for 200 aircraft. NASA has invested over $1 billion in BWB research and development since the 1990s, supporting JetZero's path to commercialization.
