Hirundo

Hirundo is the world's first commercial Machine Unlearning Platform, enabling enterprises to selectively remove unwanted data, behaviors, biases, and hallucinations from trained AI models without retraining from scratch. Founded in 2023 by Ben Luria (CEO, Rhodes Scholar and serial entrepreneur), Michael Leybovich (CTO, former Technion CS researcher), and Emeritus Professor Oded Shmueli (Chief Scientist, former Dean of Computer Science and EVP at Israel's Technion), the company is headquartered across Tel Aviv and London. Hirundo's technology works like 'neurosurgery for AI' — it identifies the precise parameters in a model responsible for undesired behaviors and surgically removes them. When deployed, the platform has demonstrated up to 55% reduction in hallucinations, 70% reduction in AI bias (as shown in work with DeepSeek-R1), and an 85% decrease in successful prompt injections (as shown with Llama). Hirundo supports open-source models such as Llama, Mistral, and Gemma, as well as non-generative systems used in computer vision, radar, and NLP. The company raised an $8M seed round in 2025 led by Maverick Ventures Israel.
