HarvestX

HarvestX is a Japanese agri-robotics company developing automated cultivation solutions for indoor vertical farms. The company pioneered the world's first robotic strawberry pollination system, using computer vision and robotic arms to replace honeybees in closed growing environments. Its flagship 'HarvestX' platform automates the three key stages of strawberry production — plant management, pollination, and harvesting — enabling hygienic, stable yields at scale. HarvestX uses ROS2-based robot control and proprietary detection algorithms for flower orientation and fruit maturity classification. Founded at the University of Tokyo's Hongo Tech Garage, the company has raised over 610 million yen in funding across three rounds and operates headquarters in Tokyo and a branch farm in Hamamatsu.
