Autonomous cargo aircraft for long-range logistics
Grid Aero is a San Leandro, California-based aerospace and defense startup building low-cost, rugged autonomous cargo aircraft for long-range logistics missions. Founded in June 2024, the company's flagship aircraft, the Lifter Lite, is designed to autonomously carry between 2,000 and 10,000 pounds of cargo over thousands of miles. Grid Aero raised a $20 million Series A round in January 2026, co-led by Bison Ventures and Geodesic Capital, and holds a contract with the US Air Force.
