Freo (formerly MoneyTap) is India's all-in-one digital money app offering UPI payments, credit lines, credit cards, insurance, investments, and digital gold to over 35 million users across 1,200+ cities. Founded in 2015 by Kunal Varma, Anuj Kacker, and Bala Parthasarathy, Freo is headquartered in Bangalore. The platform started as MoneyTap, India's first app-based credit line, before evolving into a comprehensive digital banking platform. Freo partners with banks and NBFCs to offer flexible consumer credit with zero collateral requirements, and provides UPI Lite for PIN-free small payments, micro-insurance products, and investment products including digital gold starting at Rs10. In May 2026, Freo acquired IndiaLends, a credit marketplace with 80+ bank tie-ups.
