Directr was a Boston-based mobile video creation startup that developed iOS apps enabling small businesses to easily shoot, edit, and produce professional-quality short films and video ads on their phones. The platform used guided storyboard templates to walk users through video production. Founded in 2012, Directr was acquired by Google/YouTube in August 2014 to support YouTube's small business video advertising initiatives. The app was made free to users following the acquisition.
