Conception Bio

Conception is a Berkeley-based biotechnology company developing in-vitro gametogenesis (IVG) technology to generate functional human egg cells from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The company combines stem cell biology, 3D ovarian organoid engineering, and computational genomics to recreate the key developmental stages from iPS cells through primordial germ cells to mature eggs. High-throughput genetic screens and computer vision-based quality scoring enable rapid iteration across differentiation conditions. Conception's goal is to make biological parenthood possible for people facing age-related fertility decline or medical barriers, subject to future regulatory approval.
