ComplYant was a Los Angeles-based fintech startup founded in 2019 by Shiloh Johnson (later Shiloh Luckey) that offered a subscription-based digital tax assistant platform for small businesses and solo entrepreneurs. The platform helped business owners navigate tax obligations including tracking deadlines, estimating tax payments, and managing compliance across federal and state jurisdictions — aiming to put business tax management on autopilot. ComplYant raised over $10 million in venture funding before abruptly shutting down in 2023. In October 2025, the SEC filed a fraud lawsuit against founder Shiloh Luckey, alleging she misrepresented revenue figures and misused approximately $2.2 million in investor funds for personal expenses including home purchases, Super Bowl tickets, and travel.
