Claret Medical

Claret Medical was a Santa Rosa, California-based medical device company that developed the Sentinel Cerebral Embolic Protection System, a device designed to capture and remove debris released into the bloodstream during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedures, reducing patients' risk of stroke. Founded around 2009–2011, the company achieved FDA clearance for the Sentinel system in 2017 and grew to approximately 120 employees before being acquired by Boston Scientific Corporation in 2018 for $220 million upfront with additional contingent payments up to $270 million total. Claret Medical is no longer an independent entity; its Sentinel product is now part of Boston Scientific's structural heart portfolio.
