CarbonClean Energy is a deep-tech climate startup headquartered in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, founded in 2022 by Dr. Yi-Rung (Emma) Lin, a Stanford-trained chemical engineer. The company pioneers advanced CO₂ electrolysis technology to convert captured carbon dioxide into high-value chemicals and fuels on-site, enabling industries to transform their CO₂ emissions from a liability into a circular resource. CarbonClean Energy's technology targets hard-to-abate industrial sectors—cement, steel, and refining—providing modular solutions that replace fossil-based feedstocks with CO₂-derived alternatives. The company participated in SparkLabs Taiwan's accelerator program and has showcased its technology at VivaTech 2026 in Paris and Smart City Online. Its mission is to accelerate the global transition toward a sustainable circular carbon economy by making industrial decarbonization economically viable and scalable.
