Bramble Energy

Bramble Energy was a UK technology company on a mission to drive transformational change in the energy sector. Spun out in 2015/2016 from Imperial College London and University College London (UCL), the company developed the patent-protected Printed Circuit Board Fuel Cell (PCBFC), later branded as its PCB-X platform, using cost-effective printed circuit board manufacturing methods and materials to reduce the cost and complexity of producing hydrogen fuel cells (PEMFCs) at scale for mobility, portable power and industrial applications. Headquartered in Crawley, UK, Bramble Energy raised £35 million in February 2022 to accelerate deployment of its technology. In November 2025 the company filed for administration after failing to secure new third-party financing, wiping out investor Hydrogen Capital Growth's roughly £11 million equity stake.
