Bioactivx

Bioactivx is a Singapore-based regenerative medicine and biomaterials startup developing fully synthetic, animal-free wound care implants that accelerate healing and reduce infection risk. Founded in 2023 as an A*STAR spin-off by Dr. Peili Teo, Dr. Yew Lok Woo, and Mickey Cheong, the company's proprietary biomaterial platform technology creates medical implants that actively support the body's natural healing process. Its flagship product, the Bioactiv Matrix, is a next-generation skin substitute designed to close both acute and chronic wounds — including burns, ulcers, cuts, and abrasions — by promoting skin regeneration and controlling inflammation. The pipeline includes Bioactiv Foam, antimicrobial foam and cellulose, and a surgical wound closure device. Currently at the seed stage and preparing for regulatory submission, Bioactivx is backed by 8 publications, 24 patents filed, 4 patents granted, and 17 preclinical trials. In November 2025 the company raised a USD 1.425M seed round. Its mission is to improve healing outcomes and enhance patient quality of life through innovative regenerative medical implants.
