Beceem Communications was a fabless semiconductor company founded in October 2003 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, specializing in 4G WiMAX chipsets for mobile devices and wireless broadband infrastructure. The company developed single-chip baseband and RF solutions that enabled mobile WiMAX deployments globally, achieving the largest share of the WiMAX semiconductor market. Beceem raised $110 million across six funding rounds and was acquired by Broadcom Corporation in October 2010 for $316 million, with Broadcom integrating Beceem's technology into its 4G wireless portfolio.
