Gigascale 3D nanomanufacturing — printing the future of semiconductors at 1/10th the cost
Atum Works is building the world's first scalable 3D lithography foundry, capable of fabricating multi-material 3D structures with 100 nm resolution at wafer scale. Founded by physicists and systems engineers from Caltech and NASA, the company is developing a 3D process to manufacture increasingly 3D integrated circuits at 1/10th the cost of today's 2D lithography. Unlike conventional stacking approaches whose costs scale exponentially with density, Atum's 3D lithography scales process complexity with materials, enabling the next decade of semiconductor progress. The company has established a manufacturing facility in Mountain View, CA, built its first 3D nano-printer, and acquired initial customers including an LOI for co-development with NVIDIA. Beyond semiconductors, the platform has applications in biotech, sensing, and advanced materials.
