ARTBIO is a clinical-stage radiopharmaceutical company developing alpha radioligand therapies (ARTs) built on the lead-212 isotope, founded in 2021 by Roy Larsen, Øyvind Bruland, Radforsk, and F-Prime Capital and headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with R&D operations in Oslo. Lead candidate AB001, a PSMA-targeted 212Pb radioligand for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, completed a first-in-human Phase 0 study and received FDA IND clearance in September 2025. Its benchtop AlphaDirect isolation system produces high-purity 212Pb from accessible raw materials, enabling distributed manufacturing backed by supply agreements including PharmaLogic and a Greater China collaboration with AlphaGen Therapeutics. ARTBIO raised a $90 million Series A in 2023 and a $132 million Series B in 2025 co-led by Sofinnova Investments and B Capital to take AB001 through Phase 2.
