Actym Therapeutics is a Berkeley, California-based clinical-stage biotechnology company developing engineered bacterial therapeutics for cancer and fibrotic disease. Its STACT (S. Typhimurium Anti-Cancer Therapy) platform uses a precisely engineered, systemically administered bacterial vehicle to deliver multiple therapeutic payloads directly and exclusively to the tumor microenvironment, where they are locally amplified to produce therapeutic effects while avoiding systemic toxicity. The lead program, ACTM-838, delivers a constitutively active STING agonist (eSTING) and IL-15plex into tumor-resident myeloid cells to convert immunologically cold tumors to hot, enabling robust engagement of both innate and adaptive immunity. ACTM-838 is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1a/1b clinical trial in patients with advanced solid tumors.
