SK Innovation E&S is South Korea's largest private energy company, formed in November 2024 through the merger of SK Innovation and SK E&S (originally established as SK-Enron Co., Ltd. in 1999 as a joint venture between SK and Enron). The combined entity operates across LNG, hydrogen, renewable energy, EV batteries, and energy solutions, with a mission to lead the transition to green energy. It is a subsidiary of SK Group (controlled by SK Inc.) and makes strategic investments in energy and clean technology companies globally, including investments in Plug Power and US battery energy storage assets (Key Capture Energy, acquired 2021). Total merger assets valued at approximately 100–110 trillion Korean won (~$75–80B).
