Zing Health

Zing Health is a Chicago-based Medicare Advantage health plan founded in 2019 by physicians Eric E. Whitaker, MD, MPH and Kenneth Alleyne, MD, along with co-founders Health2047 and Garfield Collins. The company was created to address systemic inadequacies in healthcare delivery for historically underserved and minority senior populations by building community-centered Medicare Advantage plans that treat social determinants of health as clinical priorities. Zing Health's model places the member and their primary care provider at the center of care, supported by a holistic team including nurse care managers, behavioral health clinicians, social workers, and community organization liaisons. The plan integrates Medicare Part A, B, and D benefits with robust supplemental benefits and a tech-enabled care coordination platform. Originally serving Cook County, Illinois in 2020, Zing Health has expanded to cover counties across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee, serving Medicare beneficiaries who need customized, equity-focused managed care.
