Xampla is a Cambridge University spinout founded in 2018 by Professor Tuomas Knowles and Dr Marc Rodriguez Garcia, building on over 15 years of research. The company creates natural materials from plant proteins to replace single-use plastics. Xampla launched its Morro brand in 2023, offering coatings and films for commercial packaging applications. The company is the UK's first university spinout to achieve B Corp status and has raised over $14M in Series A funding led by Emerald Technology Ventures in 2025.
