About
Woodside Louisiana LNG (LALNG) is an under-construction LNG production and export terminal in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, developed by Australian energy company Woodside Energy. The project has a total permitted liquefaction capacity of 27.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) across five LNG plants through four phases. In April 2025, Woodside made a final investment decision for the foundational Phase 1, comprising a three-train 16.5 MTPA development with Bechtel as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor. Site construction commenced in 2022, and upon completion the facility will position Woodside as a global LNG powerhouse delivering approximately 24 MTPA from its global LNG portfolio in the 2030s. The project office is headquartered in Houston, Texas. Woodside acquired the project (formerly Driftwood LNG, developed by Tellurian) in October 2024.
