Wild Zebra

Wild Zebra is a Seattle-based edtech startup, founded in 2024, that builds a Socratic, question-driven AI tutor for math and reading aimed at students in grades 2 through 9. Rather than supplying answers outright, the platform engages students in guided, interactive conversations that adapt in real time to each student's knowledge gaps, current level, and personal interests, aiming to build durable understanding instead of just task completion. Parents and teachers can review a "Learning Tree" mastery map, session-by-session conversation history, and performance summaries. The company is built in partnership with the Educational Records Bureau (ERB), is mapped to ERB learning standards, and is used in top private/independent schools across the United States; it reports more than 100,000 learning conversations on the platform to date. In August 2026, Wild Zebra raised a $6 million oversubscribed seed round led by Trilogy Equity Partners, with participation from Tetherpoint Capital and Shrikesh Majithia, bringing its total funding to $8 million.
