WeSwap was a London-based peer-to-peer currency exchange platform founded in 2013 by Jared Jesner and Simon Sacerdoti that matched travellers heading in opposite directions to swap travel money directly at the interbank rate. Users accessed the service via a mobile app and Mastercard-powered prepaid card, supporting 18 currencies and enabling spending in over 150 countries. At its peak WeSwap processed over £250 million in swapped currency and attracted over 300,000 users, positioning itself as a leading high-growth UK fintech. The company ceased trading in October 2024 after its payment services provider Manigo Services entered administration.
