Water Access Rwanda

Water Access Rwanda (WAR) is a Rwandan social enterprise founded by Christelle Kwizera that deploys capital-efficient, solar-powered water infrastructure to serve rural and small-town communities across Rwanda and East Africa. The company's flagship INUMA mini-grid system drills or refurbishes boreholes, adds solar pumps, and pipes purified safe water to both public taps and private households at the highly affordable rate of $1 per 1,000 liters. Beyond INUMA, WAR offers AMAZI rain-to-tap systems, VOMA custom project services for NGOs and government partners, and UHIRA systems for farmers and off-grid businesses. With over 233,000 total users served, 60 active mini-grids, and $7.5 million in investment secured, WAR has become a leading model for sustainable water utility in sub-Saharan Africa.
