Fast, affordable satellite propulsion for the next wave of launches
VXB Aerospace is a deep tech satellite propulsion company building the Zephyr Hall effect thruster. Founded by Dr. Alex Ryan (PhD, plasma physics) and CTO Zack Levy (PhD, astrochemistry), VXB's thrusters use proprietary AI-driven evolutionary algorithms to optimize thruster design, enabling rapid development and significant cost reductions versus legacy providers. The Zephyr system is optimized for Argon fuel — 100x cheaper than conventional alternatives — and offers 5x lower unit costs with shorter lead times. VXB participated in the Techstars Space 2024 Accelerator and has secured letters of intent from multiple satellite operators. The US Defense Innovation Unit visited VXB's facility to explore collaboration on critical in-space propulsion capability.
